Hello!
We are BuBuTales - a project created with love for our little family and all Ukrainian children. We believe that every child deserves to hear the stories in their own language.
Our story
We are from Ukraine - me, mom, and our little daughter. The idea of BuBuTales was born when we started telling stories to our daughter. I told her a story about Shrek, then about Madagascar, and she really loved it. That's how we decided to create this website - tales based on favorite cartoons, which we voiced ourselves in Ukrainian. Later, we came up with the idea to make tales based on movies, anime, and games.
Why we built this: Maya falls asleep to it
Our daughter Maya is the reason this project looks the way it does. Every evening she falls asleep to these tales — and not to a stranger’s recording, but to the versions her mum and I narrated ourselves. We noticed something we hadn’t expected: it isn’t only the story that settles her, it’s hearing our voices. That is why BubuTales is more than a library of audio tales, and why you can have a tale narrated in your own voice — we know first-hand what that does at bedtime.
Our mission
We aim to:
- Create high-quality Ukrainian-language content for children
- Help parents spend more time with their children
- Grow the Ukrainian language through stories children actually want to hear
- Keep the magic of favourite stories alive in a new format
